At the beginning of each academic year, VAHS hosts both a
freshmen orientation/open house, and a schoolwide open house for 10th – 12th graders.
The Freshmen Orientation takes place in the morning and consists of two parts—informational sessions and an open house in which students and parents/guardians walk through the student’s schedule.
This year’s informational sessions covered the topics below. Students attend each of these 25-minute sessions rotating in their advisory groups. Beginning of Year Open House
The beginning of year open house takes place in the evening a the week before school starts. 10th – 12th graders and parents/guardians get the opportunity to meet their new teachers and staff as they walk through an abbreviated version of the student’s high school schedule.
